Serbia & Montenegro Book Market Project
BibliOdyssey 2003 – 2006 project website
The project, implemented in partnership with the National Library of Serbia, aimed at improving the book market infrastructure in Serbia & Montenegro and its reintegration in regional and international book markets.
The project supported the development of an online Books in Print catalogue KnjigaInfo in cooperation with its Croatian counterpart KIS, a distribution centre Bookbridge, as well as book trade software for booksellers, and the establishment of quality bookshops in smaller towns in Serbia and Montenegro.
The project offered intensive training with a series of seminars, workshops, and consultations on site for publishers, distributors, and booksellers conducted by the Polish BMR, and in The Netherlands. Through its Books across Borders program, the project supported cooperation between book trade professionals inSerbia & Montenegro, Croatia, and Bosnia & Herzegovina, and stimulated cross-border circulation of books by providing libraries with matching funds for books from neighbouring countries (“Books across Borders”).
